WEEK 2 INSIDE THE DOG HOUSE

Week 2 is here, and it is going to be a busy one as the rest of our Dog House teams officially join the action!

Macomb and Brown County enter the week at 1–0 after impressive opening-night victories. West Hancock is 0–1 and looking to bounce back, while Fort Madison, Mount Pleasant, Central Lee, West Burlington–Notre Dame, and Centerville will enter Friday night at 0–0.

Eight Dog House teams. Eight games. One huge night of Tri-State high school football!

Burlington at Fort Madison

The Fort Madison Bloodhounds will host the Burlington Grayhounds in the DAWG Battle at Richmond Stadium.

Two proud programs. Two packs of Hounds. One major Southeast Iowa rivalry under the Friday night lights. Coach Derek Doherty and the Bloodhounds will look to defend Jim Youel Field and begin their season with a statement victory.

Will the Bloodhounds defend their house, or will the Grayhounds take the bite out of Fort Madison?

Mount Pleasant at Mediapolis

The Mount Pleasant Panthers will travel to face the Mediapolis Bulldogs.

Coach John Bowlin’s Panthers open their season on the road against a tough and physical Mediapolis program. It will be an immediate test and an opportunity for Mount Pleasant to show that it is prepared to take another step forward in 2026.

Central Lee at Van Buren County

The Central Lee Hawks will travel to face the Van Buren County Warriors.

Coach Ted Egli and the Hawks open their season on the road in a familiar Southeast Iowa battle. Central Lee will look to establish its identity, play physical football, and begin the new campaign with a strong performance.

West Burlington–Notre Dame at Danville

The West Burlington–Notre Dame Falcons will travel to face the Danville Bears.

The Falcons will take their explosive athletes and physical style on the road for an early Southeast Iowa showdown. Danville will be ready to protect its home field, creating the possibility of an exciting opening-night battle.

Centerville at Knoxville

The Centerville Big Reds will travel to face the Knoxville Panthers.

Coach Matt Kovacevich and the Big Reds will take their physical brand of football on the road for a difficult early-season matchup. Centerville will look to establish control at the line of scrimmage and make an immediate statement against the Panthers.

Lewistown/Cuba/Spoon River Valley at Macomb

The 1–0 Macomb Bombers will host Lewistown/Cuba/Spoon River Valley.

Coach Tanner Horrell and the Bombers return home looking to protect their field and build on their opening-night victory. Macomb will attempt to carry that momentum into Week 2 and remain undefeated.

The Bombers are back home and ready to go to work!

Pleasant Hill [Co-op] at Brown County

The 1–0 Brown County Hornets will host the 1–0 Pleasant Hill [Co-op].

Coach Tom Little and the Hornets return home for a battle between two undefeated teams. Brown County will look to bring the same physical and complete style of football that helped the Hornets make an early statement on both offense and defense.

Something has to give when two 1–0 teams collide in Mount Sterling!

Astoria [South Fulton Co-op] at West Hancock

The 0–1 West Hancock Titans will host Astoria [South Fulton Co-op] (0–1).

Coach Coy Dorothy and the Titans return home looking to respond after their opening loss. Both teams will enter the night hungry for their first victory, setting the stage for a physical battle at Jim Repplinger Field.

The Titans are back home—and they will be ready to defend their house!

The entire Dog House will be in action Friday night. From Southeast Iowa to Western Illinois, the lights will be shining, the stands will be packed, and eight programs will take the field carrying the pride of their schools and communities.
